Guys I witness carnage and heaven a few months back at the same time and never got around to telling my story till now. As you know Georgia is the east coast hub for movie production. I recently met a guy who works for one of the production companies as a prop contractor. I went to the shop and what did I see? Eleven E body barracudas 70-74. All made to look like the same car. Some are for crashes, jumps, chases you get the idea. What is sad though they pulled a lot of the interior and drive train, added LS crate motors so the stunt drivers have them all made up and tuned the same. I really was some what star struct and disappointed by the way they take these cars apart. They paid 30-60k for each car these were not junk cars, that’s before they added their stuff. What is sad is they are never to be resold for liability purposes. I was not allowed to take photos. He would not tell me the name of the movie either only that it should be viewing next year and it’s a block buster film. So who knows was a really cool day. This dudes job is to travel around where ever a movie is being filmed, find a lease building, ship all his tools and equipment then builds cars for movie sets. Cool job but he travels way to much. When their done they break down the shop and move to the next location. Kind of crazy.

Walking Dead films in GA, but I doubt it's them. Timeline of that show is 10-12 years old, and all of the gas is gone and batteries are all dead....lol. I hope the 74 Cuda 360 I sold a few years ago ain't one of em! Nice rust free, triple black car with numbers matching motor.

Looks like it could be "Bandit" with Mel Gibson.

Yea. That's a hectic pace.
What a waste of these cars, that kinda sucks. Gone in days.
Some guys spend half of their lives trying to make a nice car.

What color were the cars so I’ll know the reference when I see the movie?

You found it Rob those are the cars red with black bill board and half of a AAR lateral stripe on the doors. Looked weird to me but whatever.

What a shame. They probably gutted the cars and threw the parts in the dumpster.

Well Rob spilled the beens it is a marvel movie I believe. They are red with the black bill boards but they also added the AAR strobe stripe.

i'm to the point now i don't like watching old movies with lots of CARnage anymore. too many cars i'd love to have destroyed. and those are the ones where the cars were current to the time period. using up old cars for a movie now is just sad, if they're going to use anything other than a prius, i wish they'd just CG it

My bad. You never really said "we" couldn't figure it out. LOL

Heck if you really wanna feel bad, just watch ONE.....JUST ONE episode of CHiPS. Remember that show? Just one episode. LOL

In the video they refer to it as "the muscle car" LOL They don't even know what it is. Or give a ****.

We're all showing our age and our love for our old Mopars. Todays young people don't care. They're just old cars. Youth is wasted on the young.

I'll defend the younger car generation some. Those that are really into it at least. I don't know a Honda from a Acura from a Nissan from a Toyotee anymore and don't give a ****. But those guys really into that stuff......and I mean the ones who really KNOW about it.....not fanboys, they really know their stuff about turbos, injection and whatnot. I have some respect. Yes I do. I don't give a ****, but I do have respect. LOL

From an old Gator, and coming back to the Motherland next year, I somewhat agree. My boys have a modified Titan, and a hot Civic. They and their friends think my 70 Swinger 340 is an antique, and laugh at me for my car. I've fixed all their cars with my O'Scope and signal generator to stay current with the current street Turbo scene, but they have no sense of history. They can't believe my 70 Swinger 340 was the smallest car Chrysler made in 1970. With my sons, I'm trapped between 2 worlds. I'm taking their Mother for a ride with the 408 Swinger next to me on the bench seat with the AM radio cranked.

Yeah, car size is one thing I'm always talkin about with Kitty. Like goin to the grocery store.....I'm always bitchin about how small the parking spaces are.....but it's true. It's a good thing we don't own a 1977 Royal Monaco. I really would be pissed off all the time. lol

My sons don't believe that My 70 Swinger 340 was the smallest car Mopar made in 1970. My youngest is attending Vanderbilt in a Honda Civic I bought him for school. IIRC ,The 1970 Swinger 340 had a 112" wheel base, while the E bodies were 111"WB. I'll send you some pictures, Georgia(RRR), if you GAS. Paul.

I have to defend the younger generation too. I teach automotive technology to juniors and seniors from 14 local high schools in SWMO. There is still a massive amount of love, respect, and desire for classics of all variety. The biggest problem is availability. How are these kids supposed to find these cars, let alone afford them. I was reduced to driving Novas and Mustangs for years due to not being able to swing a Mopar. So, like RRR, I can appreciate and respect a kid building a Honda or Mazda because at least they’re interested in cars and hot rodding, even if they’re version of the hobby looks (and sounds) different.

I saw something similar in the early '00's. I was at R&R salvage in Aurora, Missouri (which was due to close shortly after) and they had every '68-'70 Charger set aside and cordoned off. Mind you, these cars were JUNK. There were no good parts left on em.
A few days later on my way to work I passed a couple semi's headed west, loaded up with those cars.

Maybe a year later, the Dukes of Hazzard movie came out.

As for today's youth, I see both sides.
My son is 12 and totally understands the hard work, value and appreciation of our Mopar.
He likes the car shows, he can spot a non original clone too.
I guess I'm brainwashing him, lol.
Then on the other hand, some of his friends could care less about vintage, they're all about Acuras, Maserati and Vettes.
I guess it comes down to what you are exposed to.
My Dad wasn't a car guy, but I look back and realize I got it from my Grandfather. He had a Dart, and I took interest.
I was right there for the Oil changes, points and condenser, tire rotations, and of course washing and waxing.

R & R is less than 15 miles from me. They used to have TONS of BA Mopar stuff back when I was a kid.

This has long been my stance and argument. 20-25 years ago, the old men of my group we’re ridiculing the youth in there Honda cars. I stood up for them while giving a light chastising for there words of displeasure.

The “Kids” of that day and today afford what they can do cop what we do. There no different than you (the older guys) in what there doing. It’s just what they can and can not afford. While your argument is “They should save there money for a real car” doesn’t really hold water since “a a k in the day when you were young….” You paid a week or two’s check for that bomb of a car and worked it up. Just like there doing now.

Now IF ONLY America made an”AFFORDABLE” V8 car…. And the aftermarket prices were not so stupidly steep, you would see more American kids driving and hot rodding American cars.

Today, what’s the best a kid can do?
Mustang? What else is CHEAP?
