Your hood might not be aligned properly. I thought that I had the same problem on my 69 cuda and lived with the problem for years. I ended up selling the car and while I was waiting for it to be picked up I played with it and got it adjusted properly. I kept trying to adjust the rear bolt and finally decided to adjust the front bolt and that fixed the issue.
