What do you guys think? Prices seem similar. I’m putting this on a 65 Valiant. The Dr Diff kit can add the upper ball joint adapter sleeves. The Mancini kit looks like those aren’t needed. I have no direct experience with either company but both seem to get good mentions here.

My opinion Dr diff is excellent Cass knows his stuff, and if you have an issue he will be haapy to talk to you.Definatly my choice for a more personal transaction.Ihave used him alot and will again:thumbsup:

i vote for cass as well. when i was doing my pickup i asked cass about the rear disc upgrade he sells. he actually talked me out of it and explained why. after that i was sold on him and his company. class act and its more than just making a sale to him.
not hacking mancini though. Bought a ton of stuff off of them but they are just resellers.

I love Mancini's. I've been buying from them since the '70s. But for this, Dr Diff is the best choice by far for the reasons already stated. My buying experience with him has been perfect. He's a rare thing these days: supplying high quality product and service before, during, and after the sale.

One more thing that's important for disc brake conversion kits. Those sold by Dr. Diff use widely available replacement parts. Pads, shoes, rotors, drums, calipers are all available through many regular parts sources. That could be important in a few years. The kits Mancini's sells use proprietary parts, as do several others. If those parts become unavailable when you need a brake job, you're in trouble. A friend of mine had to completely re-do his front brakes when Stainless Steel Brakes closed up a few years ago. SSBC is back, but rotors for their kits were unavailable for a few years. My friend made up a kit from '73-up stock parts. Some of Dr. Diff's kits are based on those parts, only all new, and they're usually less expensive than finding used parts.

Now that’s some good insight. Thanks!

No problem. Just repeating what I've heard, and found to be painfully true (to my buddy).

I needed to replace the front brakes on my SSBC kit (A153 I think) a couple seasons ago, the pads and rotors were from a 67 Mustang GT, I was able to buy them at the local auto parts store.

I don't know what his kit number was, but he needed 4" lug pattern rotors, and didn't want to re-drill rotors. He figured if he was going to big bolt pattern, he would get the full benefit with the big ball joints.
My point is, and it remains pertinent to the OP's post, is what he needed wasn't readily available. What happens if MBM or Wilwood or Pirate Jack or Ram Man stops offering their proprietary service parts? He could be stuck with expensive scrap.
SSBC screwed over customers, employees, and vendors when they shut down. I believe it would be foolish to think it couldn't happen again, to them or other companies offering similar products.
I'm sincerely happy you were able to get the parts you needed.

I was just throwing that info out there to help him find something as none of the serviceable parts in my kit are proprietary. I do agree with Dr Diff though, I got my rear disk setup and master cylinder from him. Top notch customer service too, quick to answer any questions I had.
