Sent a return request to Summit, hopefully I'll hear back soon. They should have double boxed it.

The last couple of times I've ordered multiple things from them they were all thrown in a big box with one or two plastic pillows, it's a amazing nothing was broke or missing.

Jeff

I went online and used their return authorization request option. They've always been good to me in the past so we'll see.

If you call and talk to someone at Summit, I'd bet they'd offer you a partial refund. I've favor that and straighten it out myself versus having to wait for a replacement.

While you have it, check that one out closely for mfg defects. i read on here there are other "issues" with milodon. I think John/ @pittsburghracer mentioned it?
That's quite the disclaimer sticker!!

that looks like a different pan than the piece of she-it milidon pan I have. I’m still waiting on a free pan.

I'd like to let everyone know that Summit is going to replace the pan for me. I'll also check the new pan for leaks as well. I could probably fix it, but if leaked from that corner after I installed the engine, I'd be really ticked.

It's the Milodon 31595. I wanted something with more ground clearance and more oil control to blast around the mountains a little bit. I read your post and man, that sucks. Here's hoping my new pan comes undamaged and doesn't piss oil everywhere.

I hope they do honour the deal....I have a steering box on order, and it will probably be 6 months all up by the time I receive it.

I hope that Summit pack it nicely. :)

I hate to step all over this post but I got that TrickFlow head yesterday and opened it up. It wasn’t one heavy duty box, it wasn’t two heavy duty boxes, it was tightly
Boxed in three heavy duty boxes.

No worries Brother! Great to hear everything was packaged tight and right. Like I said before, Summit has always done me right and if they send me a shipping sticker with the new pan, the old one is going right back, it's the right thing to do.

They're submitting a claim to UPS and haven't asked for the damaged pan back. ;) My new pan has shipped and should be here on Tuesday.
You may just have an extra pan...

Two years ago we bought a 65" tv and it showed up damaged. I contacted the seller...they asked for picx and I got a refund two days later

The tv worked fine for two years until we had a lightening strike. Insurance is paying for a replacement for the free tv and I discovered I can fix the old one for $125.00!

Maybe.... Never hurts to have a spare, lol. The roads here suck and rocks in the road are a common occurrence especially in the spring due to the freeze/thaw effect. If they're sending a claim to UPS, it's no skin off their back. Betting they don't send the picture of "Do not send via ups without secondary packing" sticker, lol.

I buy a LOT from Summit and they have ALWAYS treated me right. I have sometimes bought multiple parts knowing some will be returned just to make sure I get one that fits/I can use. I simply use the tear-off prepaid shipping label the include inside every shipment, put it on a box, put a brief note in box with my name, part #'s, invoice number, and account number, and drop it off at the USPS. Within a week, a credit shows up on my charge card. Needless to say, they will continue to get my business as they are one outfit that understands they exist for their customers. Simply exceptional customer service...amazing in today's times. About to place my 3rd order in the last 2 weeks tonight!

I remember buying parts for my Torino in the early 80's from PAW. Back in the day, it was PAW or Super Shops or your local speed shop. I have never, ever had or have an issue (so far) with Summit. Back in the day, it was phone or mail order and you better know what you needed and if the shipper messed up, it would take months if not years to fix. Summit's and Jegs jump on internet commerce changed everything for the better.

On that note, decades ago I ordered header silencers for my truck.... The description said they'd fit my Hooker Super Comps. They were about 2" too long. Called tech at Jegs and they gave me two tons of **** on the phone and were WRONG, therefore, I buy from Summit. They rock, take care and so far, has made everything right.

To this day, if I see a part I need 20 bucks cheaper on Jegs..... I'll pay for the Summit part.

Back in the mid 1970’s to the early 1980’s my street racing friends and I would drive from where we live in Pa to Summit to pick up orders for others. We charged 5.00-10.00 per order. One day service.

Now that is Fkng cool! I had no option in Chicago. Super Shops or PAW.... There was no internet.
