8HP70 filter.

DO you have a manual? The fill procedure is rather involved.
No manual, just used information that I got from various places.
Changed the pan/filter (pic of one removed). I'm assuming it had original pan/filter, (made in USA) truck was two years old when I bought it.
Don't believe transmission was level when refilled.
Drained 5L, was only able to put in 4L. Used the trucks onboard vehicle information for transmission temperature for filling.
Used garden sprayer to refill, works, but slow to fill. I have a hand operated suction pump in the shed, should have used that, and will when I get transmission level and try to put in another liter. Or maybe it was over filled before.??
Anyway took truck for short drive and all is well so far. May be my imagination, but seems to shift smoother. Anxious to see how it shifts when cold, after I get it full of fluid. Always seemed to be a pause shifting 1-2 or 2-3.
Except for the refill and burning my hand on the exhaust crossover (single exhaust), it wasn't a difficult job. Probably saved a couple, maybe several hundred dollars. The pan/filter was $95, fluid was $20.25 a liter +tax, bought 6. Both from Amazon.
Let you know if transmission fails
