A Look Back at 1964...

-
In 64, I was twelve, and saved Hal Green chevrolet a lot of money.
My grandparents bought a new 64 impala, and I was riding with them on the first trip home. I told granpa to stop, the oil light came on. (he had never had anything but gauges)
NO oil in the engine.. assy lube only.

64? I had a Volvo PV544, couldn't kill it, just finished my 57 Panhead, fuchsia and lime gold metalflake, 36" over Indian girder front end, couldn't turn it around in a 40 acre field, but it did look magnificent on a straight stretch of road.
By the way my SS # only has two digits and the're Roman numerals.

I was 7 in 64 also! I think that was the winter that we were out of school for a month straight, because we got a foot or more of snow every Sunday night!

I would have been 7 in 1964. Don't really remember anything extraordinary . What the hell we talkin about anyway ?:BangHead: :poke: :realcrazy::eek:

In 1964 I was still in Junior High. Didn't have a car of my own for another six years. But I did buy a 56 Plymouth Belvedere many decades later. 277 Powerflite, factory four barrel carb and dual exhaust. Had it for 20 years now.

I love that Plymouth!
I also have a 56 savoy with the 277 and powerglide! Mine is a lifetime Phoenix car, so no rust or dents ever! I hope one day to paint it again. it is originally Baby blue, but that Turquoise color of yours really fits the car!

Agree! I usually love the plain Jane savoys (I've got a 62) but in the case of the 56 Bel, I like the extra chrome and twotone (or three). I REALLY like the 56 Fury's trim.

The Beatles, Mustang madness, my freshman year of H.S., girls, first cigarette, Bewitched (she was hot), Jim Brown, girls, Clay to Ali, Petty's first Championship, Dr. Strangelove, girls, Russell Crow was born (Gladiator my #3 movie) .. I got a job at the corner Kendall "service station" for a buck an hour, off the books of course. It was a pretty good year youngsters :). Oh yeah, as an added bonus, you still hear OUR music everywhere. :poke:

Wow! Would dig a pic of that! Custom Chopper, before the Custom Chopper scene!
