Very interesting. That leather looks like something you would find on a Model T. I think they didn't shield suspension and drivetrain parts very well then, if at all, so owners would have to stop and re-grease parts as they drove on long trips. I'm pretty sure someone could find a split-boot part that would work, and vaguely recall someone did post something. The ball & trunnion wasn't just used on Mopars. I have a long list somewhere and recall the A-body size was used on something like a 1968 Jeep Wagoneer.
