ADDING A SURE GRIP

Look at the '65 and you'll see 2 cables. One is for park and one is for shifting gears. The cable goes up to the steering column shifter.

On the '67, shifting is done by mechanical linkage.

The two aren't compactable in the least.

Yea, I suppose you could find the proper shifter (like the push buttons or a floor shifter from a '65 car) but the easiest and best way is to find the right trans and use the existing shifter. You don't want to screw around with the cable... Adjusting it is not a lot of fun and if you have to replace the cables, they aren't cheap.
I gotcha. I’ll give AA Trans a call and see what that conversion kit is about. Couple posts on the B-Body forum regarding using it. That doesn’t help with tranny size diff of course.
