Honestly, if fine filing/stone grinding the defect away leaves intact metal that appears to have integrity, I'd fine wire wheel that thing & run it. To Your comments, lobes really are a bit suspect in material quality to look at them, can't undo that. And I believe the OP does hope to hear a "good to go", but want's an honest opinion, don't We all?
