what RPM do you idle at?
anything under 1000 i wouldnt bat an eye sitting at 15 PSI
as far as sucking the pan dry, what you are worried about is not how fast the pump gets rid of it, but how slow it drains back
so look up the "oil mods" sticky and make sure you're block can return the oil back to the pan
