Tool C-3968

-
I know that's a Miller Special Tools number, but who the heck remembers numbers of a tool that we may, or may not have something like that in their tool box.
At least tell us what that tool is used on, used for, to give us a clue.

Hey, lets not go flame the original poster.
Look where he's from.
I'm sure English, is his second language.

From Dana67's link:

Hi does anyone know height tool C-3968 thank you

You can do it with a dial indicator and little fixture. I’ll see if I can find what I’m talking about and post a link for you. That would be better than that tool you are looking at.

And I'll have to say I've never seen or even heard of that tool
Shows in the 67 dart FSM too. It's basically a go no go guage.

The biggest issue would be to know what the dimension should be, the +/- is in the spec. Hence why Eny is looking for that dimension.

do not know the original height of the shaft

That’s ok. There are books that give the exact number the stem heights have to be. Someone here can look them up for you and tell you. I used to know that number off the top of my head but I can’t think of it now.
