nitrous problem

OK. I feel pretty dumb. I’m new to nitrous and it shows. I had no idea that the inlet fitting on the nitrous solenoid was a filter/screen. It was 80 percent blocked. So nitrous could get through but was weak. Cleaned it and will test tomorrow. Hope this fixes it. Thanks to everyone.
Hey, you found something. That’s what diagnosis is all about. None of us can pretend to know everything. Nice work.

I would be surprised if that doesn't solve the problem.

Check fuel pressure, check all n20 orifices are clean by disassembly/inspection ( do you have a filter?), change plugs, try a different bottle, change coil wire& coil in that order.

If it was lean it would shoot ducks or put your hoodscoop on the staiway to heaven. Rich or no gas it willfall on its face.

Do you have the ability to verify AFR?

Checking for obstructions to the nitrous supply line should be routine maintenance. Run a nitrous filter and a manual shut off valve that is within reach of the driver. Not only
does the trash keep the n20 from flowing but also can keep a solenoid from completely closing. If that happens you will be the first one to know! Glad you found a likely culprit.

Agreed. And I find it's probably going to liberate him. Let us know how you progress. Is this plate kit on a dual plane intake?

Hi Jeremiah!

Just because I don’t know, what kind of crap do you get in a nitrous line? Figured since it’s a gas there’s not much to cause a plug?

Teflon tape, aluminum bits from the AN fittings, dirt, and rust.
Thanks, never thought of rust. I guess you could aluminum bits if you disconnected the lines a bunch. Imagine the orifices are pretty small.

Usually it’s crud from new lines and fittings that are not blown out/cleaned prior to installation. And as said above Teflon tape.
