Use 10 hours as a number. And if you find a car consider this option and only after you have thoroughly went over the car with the seller and that is locate someone in that area (FYI- good people here on this site) and have them look. If it's a fit make a deal and road trip. Fly, and drive back or tow whichever works.
10 hours can easily be driven in a day with a buddy towing a trailer. Make it an adventure. But what I will tell you is be very cautious about dealing with brokers. They have alot of inventory to move and IMO will tell you what makes your ears glisten to make a deal...
