Lot of drama going on right now with New England Dragway. Reports of an un-named 'entity' submitting an unsolicited 'unknown amount' offer to buy the entire facility with an uncertain future to the track's Board of Directors.
Of course, many people have immediately jumped on the doom & gloom bandwagon that it's a done deal that the track will be closing, which I don't buy into.
Speculation on the identity of this unknown 'entity' ranges from Amazon to CoParts.
Anyone here have any actual facts concerning this matter?

Not for your question specifically but where there's smoke, there's fire in this conversation. I was just reading the owner of Mason Dixon Speedway was killed in an automobile accident. If he was the sole owner look out. That one could easily end up on the chopping block too.

It's hard to be profitable running a track....

No doubt. What sets NED apart from most track is it's owned by stock holders with a board of directors. It's not owned by a single person or single family. It's survived numerous 'hostile' takeover attempts through the years. Terrible news about Mason-Dixon's owner, sad for his family. But hopefully if it is put up for sale new owners will step forward to keep it in place.

Actual facts.. No, although after 30+ Consecutive years in the motorcycle/ top bike programs I have heard and lived through just about every rumor and talk their is. Hopefully just more of it. I know nothing is forever but this track had been home to me. If I here anything real I will post it here…..swingn’

have no reason to not believe you..lol
But a 30 horse difference on a mild motor from one dual plane to another is something i have never heard of.
5-8 even 10 horse. But 30 is huge.
I doubt my stroker drag motor would lose that much going from a single plane to that intake

He was the owner of Mason Dixon Speedway, not Mason Dixon Dragway, just wanted to clarify that.

maple grove in Pa. I went to test and tune night, took the wife in a second car in case I broke mine said she was "pit crew" I don't think I paid 50 bucks for the two of us

to get into the pit area. . Yeah we bought food and a beer after i was done running but it was a unbelievably cheap night of fun. I dont know how they make $$$$

Right church, wrong pew.

Proposal to sell the track was unanimously rejected by the NED stock holders last night.

That's a win no doubt. For the Shareholders who wanted to sell they need to do just that and let someone else hold their shares..... Drag racing is on the decline however there are plenty still in it with the Cashflow to make purchases....

Good news for the local racers....

Good news..Thanks for posting, we will probably hear something like this again at some point. Great to hear we made it over this hurdle. Swingn’

I heard it was Tasca Ford looking to buy the whole lot.
Not sure but I couldn’t see Tasca buying and then closing the track. Wouldn’t make much sense. As long as staying open was part of the plan could be a win win…..Swingn’

Apparently the Tasca bid was old news. Amazon offered up 4 times as much recently. Luckily they were denied.

I would think it is on the decline in the spectator seats, there is always guys/gals wanting to race...it will become where you show up as a racer for the weekend, camp in the pits and race each other with minimal participation in the bleacher seats. Doesn't pay for the owners...

Absolutely, that is why each season is a gift. Specialty events are a huge help, although some don’t interest me (import wars) and some others are a huge draw. Full stands are what it takes.keeps all of us racing..!! Swingn’
