I havent posted on here in a while. Car has gotten some upgrade. Went high 8s in the quarter and I think I posted those times. Car got an all aluminum big chevy for a season. Built that engine and it just went 8.8x at 152 in a 3700lb chevelle na.. pretty proud of that but I sold it and it helped me get into a hemi. When I ran it my car weighed 2640lbs and I was spraying 550 at the hit with an IS sledgehammer plate. It went 1.11 60ft.

So last season I put together a turbo hemi combo. 526 kb block, Dart fuel heads, Bryant crank, grp rods. Single set of injectors, methanol, twin 88s, s400 frame. Holley hp ecu and went 174mph in the 1/8 at 2940lbs.

Well I guess I better add my NA 408 to the list. This one has surprised me some as I didn’t expect it to run this close to my old 360-1 Indy headed combo but in its defense it was running a .650 solid lifter cam. Well here goes

.030 over 360 block zero decked
Set of open chamber heads Edelbrock heads I ported years ago.
Victor340 I ported
4 inch K1 crank (Chevy sized)
K1 rods (Chevy sized)
Domed Wisco pistons
Roller cam (specs in picture)
1000 cfm APD alcohol carb
1 7/8 Hedman headers
Bamm lifters
Block tubed by me
Milidon oil pan (azzholes)
Never figured actual compression.

1970 duster 2880 pounds
Powerglide 1.80 gear
5800 stall converter
4.88 Dana with 14-32 slicks

best 1/8 mile so far 6.06
Shifting at 6700rpm. should be in the 9.40’s area.

Some still seem to do so.

These “How to” threads were put up in order to help out and it’s amazing how it’s like pulling teeth for simple information.

alright fella's here's the combo.
74 duster all steel except hood, front bumber, lexan windshield
never weighed or corner scaled. typical weight removal.

all qa1 front except k member,.810 torsion bars, used shocks, strange brakes front,

stock fuel tank,1/2 pickup-fuel line, old carter mechanical fuel pump,850 4150

904 good bands, clutches, turbo action reverse valve body and converter,2500 stahl.
steel driveshaf,1350 u joints, old school foot brake.

junk yard 5.9l block, cast crank, stock rods, all Arp studs-bolts. fully grooved bearings
0 deck forged pistons, kevco oil pan with baffles, Melling oil pump, no concrete, girdle, oiling mods. correct dampner, flex plate and balance for external balance Magnum. Mopar timing chain with tensioner

Edelbrock magnum heads cnc'd,comp cams rockers, Edelbrock push rods, comp cam hydraulic roller, m1 intake, cometic head gaskets.

nitrous express plate, stand-alone fuel tank and pump,nx delay timer, currently using 250 shot
this system has been flow tested and spot on.

ready to run msd dist., no 6al etc, Ron Francis wiring thru whole car. optima battery, alternator

nothing special, crazy cost, rare parts, or computer tuned. lots of testing, tuning, driving and hard work. I know some of the parts are questionable, but this combo has been going on 3 years. 9.88 @ 136 I think with better 60ft, E85 conversion maybe, or converter change 9.60's are doable. I didn't list everything or more tuning spec, set up's,etc but feel free to ask. not the fastest, but fast for what it is!!!!!! ill post some pics later
thanks,motorcity magnum

what will it run without nitrous.

Would you mind if I ask you what brand lifters are you using, are they modified ? Thanks Red B.

Seriously I need to go look at my notes from 3 years ago. When I first put this combo together I made about a dozen passes on motor. Ever since it’s all or nothing when I stage. Sounds weird but it worked for me. 11.50’s-11.70’s I think? Not sure on mph. Ill dig thru my notes tomorrow. Maybe time for motor only pass?..
