Looking for reference or firsthand knowledge of the flip top gas cap on Barracudas.
69's have the word Fuel on them and I'm guessing that the text should be parallel to either the ground or the rear marker opening?
Right now I just have a hole where the gas door goes.
Will have a late model Challenger gas door welded in place of the original flip top gas cap.
How are your stock flip tops oriented?
Hoping someone out there can take a look at theirs and share some insight.
TIA

As far as I know, the text is level on the stock vehicle. Make it level front to back with the rocker.

Well, its a door. Would it not be close to plumb at hinge(s) so it dont swing open or close?

The 67-69 Barracudas had an inset for the fuel door, like the 2 above pictures. I know where one might be if interested. PM me your email address & I'll get some pictures.

Stand back from the car car and move the cap until it "looks" right never mind measurements. Coming from a tradesman's point of view.. its better to look straight than to be straight

I could be wrong, but in this picture, from this angle, it looks to me like the word fuel follows the Quarter panel and stripe lines...
A little downhill towards the rear not level?
Stripe or no stripe, they all would have been located the same way.
But all I have to go off of are pictures on the world wide web...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I guess close will be good'nuff.
