Ok I picked up a set of small joint upper A arms. But it has these reinforcement steel pieces added to them. My question is it factory or someone’s add on. Thanks in advance.
But do you think that is someones addition to the arms or was it factory?Gusset to strengthen the area that contacts the bumpstop?
Was it factory? Those are early 1960's UCA's with that welded on plate.
Nothing special to them, other than you just don't see them around anymore.
But do you think that is someones addition to the arms or was it factory?
I dunno.Ok, what was the plate for? Asking for a friend.
My 64 Polara is that way, best I can tell, it appears factoryOk I picked up a set of small joint upper A arms. But it has these reinforcement steel pieces added to them. My question is it factory or someone’s add on. Thanks in advance.

Whats with this upper control arm???But do you think that is someones addition to the arms or was it factory?
I dunno.
I never figured out a reason for it, in 40 + years, so who knows what some Chrysler engineer, designer, thought of doing that, back in the day.
I've seen them in the past, but very few of them.
So i doubt they were common, even back in the day.
Didn't last but a year, maybe two, so they figured out it didn't do any good, so it came to an end.
