On my 70 Duster drag car I currently have stock leaf springs that have been inboarded.
If I switch to a split mono leaf, will the back end still come up on launch or will it squat like a 4 link or coil over?

It will still come up. Maybe not as much as Super Stock springs, and it doesn't seem as severe on the my son's Cuda as it does on my Charger.

Do you plan to run the Cal Tracs? If so, it may rise even more in the back. If not, I agree with notchback that it may not rise as much.

It will come up! Mine is a split-mono CalTrac setup. I believe your car is quite a bit faster than mine so should launch even harder. (My best is 7.11 in the 1/8th.)

Do you happen to have a picture of your car at rest? Curious on the amount of lift.
You would think I would but I can't seem to find a good side shot. Here's one where I had the slightly smaller street tires (P295/55R15's) on it. Not sure the pic helps. If I had to guess, I'd say the body probably lifts/separates about 3-4".

Thanks, that works! Here’s mine with Caltrac’s and SS springs. Thinking I might go with their split mono’s.

The amount of separation will vary some depending upon how tight or loose the extension setting is on the rear shocks
I guess I was curious if there was an inherent difference in design that impacted lift. I pulled the spring clamps off the back to encourage separation on my SS springs and wondering if CalTracs has a different philosophy. Guess it’s time to make a phone call:p

Yep. I have the Rancho 9-way rear shocks. They are set on either the 4 or 5 click - pretty much in the middle. I need to further tune mine so it may/may not be ideal. 1.51 60' time was its best so far. I share just in case it may help someone else. But someone smarter than me may do better.

1. 51 60ft. is excellent for a low 7s car. That's a 10 second quarter capable 60 foot.
So mine's an underperformer? I'll take that!!

Seriously, I think the 60' time is helped a bit by the 5000 stall conv (ATI Treemaster) and the 4.56 gear. Until I see a 10 sec timeslip, it's just another low 11 sec street/strip car. I'm probably like most people: my car is faster in my mind than my timeslips! Regardless, it's a bunch of fun and I'll (hopefully) get after it again next season.

Now back to the OP's split mono CalTrac thread.....
