The radio in Gladys just went toast today. Gettin power, gettin ground RIGHT at the radio. It's done. It was a Dual (yeah I know) single din am/fm/cd/blootoof/aux/usb/and probably LGBTQUI and whatever else. I want at least am/fm/cd. What's a decent single din unit, with nothing like a touch screen or any other bullshit? The simpler lookin and easier to use the better. Maybe somethin on Amazon so I can use the card. lol

Thats a good question I can’t answer, every unit I have bought the radio works like ****. Especially am, if I want the Packer game on. Only thing that works worth a damn is the media player. None of the ones I have ever had work as good as oem radios.

Christmas Comes Early, get it by
12-6-21

Other units on there too, but this is one of the more simple ones.

No cd player.
Yeah, the ad is somewhat misleading- it can control a CD changer, but has no built in CD player.
I know it's not much help, but I've just been picking up old Pioneers and Alpines at the swap meets. I saw some at Wallyworld not too long ago, but didn't recognize the brand and can't vouch for the quality...

I LOVE the one I have in Vixen, but they are about 200 bucks and I cannot afford that now.

Can always dig your old boombox out of the attic for the time being... :)
Time to head to the boneyard and see what you can find- a day out scavenging is good for the soul!

Someone on here, or FBBO, I forget which, had a factory one w/CD player, just what I want for my 2000 Dakota (Has no CD player)...... It was SOLD before I could buy it. I like the simple, factory one's too. Plug right in, fit is perfect. I don't want all that new fangled stuff either RRR. Good factory stuff is just fine.

I am seeing a few stories that cassette tapes are making a come back, my son said there new album will be on cassette and cd.
I forget who the band was just this year being interviewed said they would be putting music on cassettes, thats when I called my son and he said they was also.

Good morning

The weak point on the factory unit in post 13 is the FM tuner.

I've had 2 of them crap out- weak FM reception and poor tuning with loud static.

Otherwise, that's my favorite factory radio of all time.
(Although the one in my 2015 Renegade is awfully nice.)

I've been putting Pioneer DEH 3400 series receivers in almost everything I own.

CD, 1/8" aux, and USB with a decent interface, and also an adjustment to balance the levels of all the inputs.
That's priceless as USB and aux can tend to be WAY lower than the tuner and CD.
Kind of a rare feature.

I like the Pioneer units as well, have 2 of them that get moved to each newly acquired vehicle along the way.

Those Pioneers are 25 WPC and have a remote and an optional, separate BT module.
None of mine have that BT, though.

All mine have been bought used, a couple via ebay, for around $50 each.
I believe I am up to four at this point.
1 in my Dakota to replace that post 13 unit that failed the FM.
1 in my Satellite.
1 for my Belvedere wagon.
and 1 to have in case.

You will not get any AM performance out of a radio manufactured in the last 20 years. If you want good AM go with a original radio and add a redi rad for your high tech connections.
REDIRAD - Rescue Your Radio
As for modern aftermarket they are all commoditized to the lowest chinesium junk and very little difference in quality. Kenwood was the last holdout for good quality, but today they just sell their brand name as a marketing label for any chinesium.

I've had bad luck with radio modulators.

Terrible.

Even the digital ones.

Pioneer is now owned by Denon.
Not sure for how long, but that's a good brand.
