68 Barracuda fastback rear panel carpeting ???

I in the process of putting the carpeting on my rear cargo area side panels. I'm not sure how far to glue the carpet down against the area where you screw the panel to the body and then put the chrome strip on to cover the screws? Anybody have any detailed pictures of diagram of what's correct? My car had these panels painted and not carpeted so I have nothing to compare to. Thanks

Carpet goes all the way to the edge and stainless strip snaps in on top of it.

you might want to go to NAPA these retainers are a little longer to make up for the thickness of the carpet behind the trim

only one part # 665-2829 if you are worried about sound/rattle (I didnt notice any because they are tight) do what I did with other foam clips that you cant find//poke them through a peice of card board and hit them lightly with flex seal clear and let them dry before using them it also gives just enough grip to keep them in place

Slightly off-topic: my black carpet kit came with the side panel carpet pieces, but I have no intention of using them, or the hinge cover pieces or the console piece. So if anyone wants them for the cost of shipping, hit me up. Marked with red boxes in the pic.

Here's a couple shots of the rear panels after carpet installation. They already had a set of speaker holes cut in them I just added another set. I also put Hushmat on the backsides and silicon baffles around the speakers.
