I see foams are available for 71 but not 72s how is the world to make to work and fit on 72?

1970 & 1971 seat back foam relied on external foam baskets for support.

1972 up - Steel supports inside the foam, different animal, used only AFAIK.

Best of luck.

In addition to Alaskan_TA's information, my understanding is that in 72 they started molding the foam right onto the seat frame, so technically, the foam is not replaceable, but there are stories of good upholstery shops fabricating new foam or modifying the earlier foam to make it work. the September 2019 issue of Mopar Muscle had an upholstery article that discussed this foam change.

Sorry my question please rephrase meaning AFAIK ?

Frames are different (depending on early or later '72) but the '72 up bucket seat back foam has reinforcement steel molded inside the foam, all one piece.

Okay what is the solution ? for 72 seats restoration I have order seats covers ready to hire upholstery to fix this.

You can;

Repair your original foam(s)

-or-

Find used in great shape.

I believe the foam molded to the frame is 73 and up. I did my 72 Demon buckets years ago, foam not attached around the frame. I thought Legendary had the 72 foam?

PG Classics has the foams. They don't list them on-line or in their catalog but were very helpful when I called. I also got my seat covers from there for my 72 Demon and they all fit and look amazing.

Do you happen to have the part # for those. ?

Found the receipt. The part # is 1840-RR72
Strange...that part # is for the 71 - 74 b body seats.. They certainly look similar, if not the same.. I can't find a picture of 72 Duster / Demon seat foam to compare. I have an extra set of 72 buckets that I'm getting ready to cover, so when the old covers come off I'll compare then.
You say you covered the foams you got from PG and it worked out and looks good... That's awesome if those seat foams work.. If you get a chance, post some pix here or PM me and I'll give you my email to send them to.. Thanks..!

I remember I was told use 71 B body foam and re worked the foam to make it work.

Don't buy PUI foam. If it's anything like 68 Cuda foam, it's not even going to be close to original.

Here is my seat with the B body foam and seat covers from PG classics.

Well damn..! Looks good to me..!
Did you have to alternate foam at all..?
That a HEMI car sitting there..?

The foams are perfect. You don't have to do anything to them.
And yes, that's a 66 Satellite
