I've compiled quite a bit of information on these transmissions generally, I'm just trying to decode the serial number so I know what year it was made and what engine it might have been behind. I'm having real trouble finding someone to do a heavy duty rebuild on this. I know it is possible and found a company - Oregon performance transmissions - that sells rebuild kits, including a heavy duty rebuild kit, but they are different for different years of 42RH trans, and they just sell parts. Everyone I talk to about doing the work wants to know what it is in and then when they understand it is going in a car that never had this transmission, they want nothing to do with it.
