Dude! you are committed! Good luck! the road can be draining. Living it! I have gone out of my way to look at cars and when they didnt live up to expectation, I always tried to have a couple in the area or on route to check as well. Sometimes it pans out.

Western State driving....

Yup

Did a Pueblo, CO to Devils Lake, ND work drive a while back.... there's a whole lot of 'Merica out there.

Least you've got some mountains to look at @jaws

Lots of scrub brush in Nevada, most of it was incredible to see.

I was an truck driver for 36 years before I was retired. 3.5 million accident free miles.

Looking at the road trip pics makes me want to get back out to that area again ! I love the lot of nothing ! and the mountains !

Great pics, I did 2,000 miles in two days last year to buy a car.

Nothing like the chase.:) I have to get the best price. Remind myself to shut up let the owner speak :soapbox:, have him start the negotiation of lowering the price. I feel like it's a boxing match, and I'm a counter puncher. :) Win some, lose some, but if I lose, I look at it as a nice drive and I still love driving. Go get it.

I would love to fly out and drive home. I did that with a tool truck. Flew from NE Iowa to Dallas, Picked out a truck and drove it home. It was an adventure.

Saw a sign for free range Lamborghini’s
Made it to Salina UT, before I called it enough for the day.

I have a bunch of pictures from crossing Nevada, they look just like yours. Whole lot of nothing out there, and miles and miles of long straight roads. We did the Denver area, to Reno, drive a few times while checking out and moving to our new place in southern Oregon. I-80 to Reno, then 395 North to Lakeview Oregon, Or turn off I80 at Winnamucca, then northwest on 140. You're more committed than I am, no way I'd make that drive to look at a car. Contrats on the Desoto, looks nice.

Starting in 1979, I hauled and delivered pianos to 48 and all across Canada. Those wide open areas were always my favorite where you could see for miles.
I also visited the Harrah's Auto Collection in Reno before Holiday Inn bought Harrah's and sold off lots of the cars. But Big Daddy Ed Roth's Beatnik Bandit really wowed me. I had a model of it back in the 60s.
