I have a 67 barracuda with a 360. I bought the TTI long tube headers & a mini starter. The starter fits fine but its all but touching the tube at the very bottom of the starter. Any of you have that same issue ? What did you do about it ?

I have the OE Dakota mini starter, almost touching, I got a starter heat wrap shield from DEI? Summit carries several sizes. Starter has lasted 2 years so far. Had to modify the wrap a small amount. Have a seamstress?
If it's an actual mini starter, after market, can't you reclock the starter position?

mmm good question ill have to take a look thanks

I've never seen an OEM mini-starter that's clockable. Aftermarket - yes. There are some different size OEM/mini type starters and there was one style where you have to clearance the block and a little on the starter too. But I've changed my Dart Sport (race car) starter with TTI's without loosening the headers. Does require moving the steering while maneuvering it in & out. Don't recall how close it is to the headers, but it hasn't caused a problem. I might have had 1 starter go out in 20 years on the car.

I have a Dakota mini on my 360/4-speed car with TTIs circa 1999
My mini came with an adapter on it that elevated the terminals to near-touching. I removed that adapter, and then it was fine.
She has not complained at all about the Heat.
In this pic you can see the adapter.
