Mopar brethren and sisterhood: We just had a winter storm pass through Minneapolis last night, followed by brilliant sunshine this morning. Even though I can't drive it in the winter, I just love the way my 74 Gold Duster looks in fresh snow. So for your viewing pleasure, here's what she looks like after the storm came through. The weak midwinter sun in Minnesota has a golden glow to it that really makes the JY9 Tahitian Gold Metallic paint pop out. I'm also sending along a few photos of my favorite option on the car, the C73 Space Duster Pak, with the folding rear seat down and the security panel opened. I hope you enjoy the pix, especially you fellas down south who never see weather like this. Merry Christmas to all!

I love the look of fresh snow on the ground, like fresh white paint to cover all the 'faults'. Beautiful! Now, working outside in it........

About an inch of snow up north, Avon, just winterized the last two cars a couple weeks ago, your car looks great

We are still waiting here in Northern Colorado:(

My sister had a white 65 mustang, it was a stark white. That is till we took it to the local ski resort and found out it was more of a cream white.

Snow brings out the best in colors.

Car looks great!

Totally missed us in Milwaukee and I wouldn’t trade places with you. Merry merry, happy happy.

We only got 6" down in Winnebago, but the plow double stacked it for our pleasure!

I might live in S E Tx BUT I know cold when I see it!!!!
I lived in Mo. for 37 years! But ya ain't seen cold till ya been North of the Mo. state line!!

What, no studded tires..
They outlawed them in Minnesota around 1972. Apparently, they tore up the pavement too much. These Dusters and Darts were extremely common growing up in Minneapolis in the 60s and 70s. They all rusted horribly. Around year two almost all of these cars had fist sized rust through holes behind all four wheels. They didn't handle very well in the snow and ice. No anti lock brakes, all wheel drive or traction control system. Bias ply tires and snow tires in the back during the winter. The heaters were pretty bad. But we seemed to get by okay. By year four or five, you were looking for a new car, not due to mechanical failure, but because of rust through. Typically, the torsion bar anchors would rust out and ruin the front end, or the rear leaf spring shackle mount would tear away from the underbody and the spring would penetrate into the trunk.

I grew up in the country, a little south west of you, small town called Le Center is where I went to school. Dated a gal from Bloomington. Live in Illinois now, snow will be here soon enough!
