Uncle Tony's response to Direct Connection

What im saying is taking off 5 thousands is easy as far as honing or removing stock and what if I recall I stated was a 5 thousandths cut is removing 10
Are you a machinist? Or have you ever done lathe work? Did I call myself a machinist?

So read it again removing .005 gives you ten thousandth's. its not a lot of stock to remove per se,,,, thats all I said......I never addressed piston to wall clearance as that was not the point at hand and yes your correct that would a as you stated massive amount of material when fitting pistons.
We know in a cylinder or cylindrical oriface. .005 means .010 and so on.. he's saying if you take a 'worn out' motor where the skirt clearance 'was'.0025 stock, and has grown..and you go and ..as you said..."remove .005 to make it roundish, and again as you go on to point out..".005 is .010..." the piston will be damn near doing back flips in the bore and the motor will be a smoke machine @wot .

Garbage in... garbage out.
