Trying to remove the rear seat cushion from my '68 Dart. Should be the easiest job on the list, but mine won't budge. I know how it's retained and how I've always removed seat cushions in the past, but this thing is stubborn. I'm trying to push down and rearward at the cushion bottom, release the hook, and then lift. Any suggestions?

Sometimes if the bar that goes into the retainers is bent a little, you can't push it back far enough to release. You may have to push and lift while sliding your hand under to push out the bar part of the seat frame that is stuck. If someone else can push and lift the seat a bit it will of course be easier for you to do this.

If your front seat was out I would say, sit down on the floor and kick the chit out of it. But probably not the case. Yes some can be in there tight! You understand that bracket, you will succeed!

Put a heavy rag where the bracket meets the floor. Use a three pound sledge and it SHOULD come off

you might try getting somebody (a second person) in the trunk and try to snake their arm down under the seat so that they can feel what is happening. Also try one side at a time, if you can get one side undone it might make the sticky one easier.

If you pull up before you have it back far enough you'll bend the seat spring down and it bends into the hook further . When that happens I call my son. You just need more muscle and push straight back before lifting.
