Rock auto blower motors for sale are stating with factory a/c or with dealer installed a/c. Does dealer installed a/c mean without a/c? My car is a 72 dart with NO a/c. Mucho confuso! Thanks in advance

Well that makes little sense.
Yes, you have a dealer installed A/C, but you have NO A/C?

Not positive about this, it's just my two cents.... The top two results for DEALER installed AC are dual shaft motors, likely installed horizontally with two squirrel cages on them.. It looks to me like those are for under dash booster fans... I would choose from the other two results for a firewall mounted fan, or look elsewhere for a non-AC result.

It seems Rock Autos definition of dealer installed A/C may differ from what WE consider A/C.
But you can't get Rock auto on the phone.
Confusing to say the least.
In the interest of going down that rabbit hole, Was also wondering...
Is plain old heat or defrost blowing without an installed A/C compressor considered Air Conditioning to Rock auto?
And

Do Heat Delete cars actually have blower motors?

This is from our 67 cuda with factory ac. I also have 3 non ac 67-9 cuda heater assemblies and all 3 blower motors are identical to each other, BUT different than our factory ac blower. AC blower has 3 mount holes to firewall. The 3 NON A/C ones I have are all 4 bolt mount. Also you can see where there are 2 machine screws in ac blower. Non ac has rivets.
Hope this helps.

There you go.
Makes sense.
Factory AC= 3 hole mount.
Non A/C. = 4 hole mount.

Could be more to it as well. Shaft length/diameter etc. Gotta make sure your wheel fits their shaft as no wheel is supplied. Maybe that's why I try to keep doubles of everything :BangHead:

Go figure. My blower motor just started working again out of nowhere. Must've healed itself.

.
All this time I thought our AC blower motor in 1st pic was missing a grommet at the hole on the side. Apparently not so, Rock Auto calls it a "vent" hole.
Glad yours is back working again, I bet it's an electrical issue.

Like any motor with windings, a smack with a light hammer usually gets it going, for its last hurrah.:BangHead:

Look at 2nd listing in the rock Auto ad. Kinda explains the difference in various ac systems.
I don't see one listed above for a non AC application in what is showing in this post

4spdragtop, yout blower motor is clocked wrong, that hole in the motor housing should be facing down. There is a 90° hose that attaches to it and goes to that hole in the firewall. It's not a vent, but a cooling tube for the motor from the squirel cage.

your motor is not clocked to the right position. That round hole on the side should point down and is connected to the tube below by a rubber hose.

There are 2 different sets of photos there. The one set has a blower motor that should have a cooling tube. The other set does not have a cooling tube. I doubt that a '67 ever had a cooling tube.

Interesting Jim, your motor has rivets as opposed to machine screws/nuts on motor housing. Yours looks similar to the 3 non ac blower motors I have.

Cruze, I'll have to dig out part #'s to see if I can muddy the waters more lol

great observation!!! When I sent my ac heater box to Mr Heaterbox for restoration, they send the motor to a 3rd party. They may restore it OR replace it with another similar one as I later found out. My original (with nuts) was replaced with the one shown!! I was NOT happy☹️☹️☹️☹️ The wiring is also clocked wrong compared to the original.
Told them they should have advised me before doing that. Ggrrrr, mumble, mumble etc

I dont blame you for being unhappy. We had both our factory tachs(67 and a 69) done by them. We actually dropped them off, Dads 67 hasnt worked properly(reads high) since day 1. They are aware and will fix, but as we know these tachs are a pita to remove!

I sent all my tachs and gauges to Redline. Never a problem, other than looking under the mattress for more US$$$$!
