SBC SWAP IN A 64 BARRACUDA?

Fixed! I am more brand specific. Not totally OEM, restore down to the last nut and bolt but brand specific. A Ford Coupe should have a Ford mill. A 33 Dodge needs a Mopar engine whether it be a Gen 1 Hemi or a Poly (that would be cool), a 340 6 pack or a 426 wedge. Not a Chevy.
I understand why people put Chevy zipper engines in the old iron when building a street rod. With the oil pump and sump at the rear, they clear the crossmember easier. Years ago the parts commonality of Chevies made building the engines less expensive. Chevy bell housings shared the same bolt pattern, so transmission selection was not as difficult.
The older Ford engines changed bellhousing patterns between engine series, small block and Windsor intakes do not interchange because of width. The FE engines had quite the selection of heads with the affiliated intake manifolds. Not all heads fit the smaller bore blocks. This made building a Ford more expensive until the 5.0 came out.
I believe Mopar has a similar issue.
I also understand the put a Ford in a Ford and a Mopar in a Mopar.
A friend calls a project like this Corvette chasss under a Barracuda, building a transvestite.
I did room with a guy that had a Superbee that the previous owner installed a Hemi in. They also installed a Corvette IRS with 3.08 gears and disc brakes. The front brakes still had drums. With the tall gear the highway fuel mileage was good. This I can understand, especially if the front brakes had been upgraded also.
