Should I leave the hood like it is or add a 340 Duster, Damon option offered in the early 70s. I’m putting it out there to see what you guys think, I’m in between about it. Your thoughts and opinions would be great,

Original hoods with no modifications are awesome!

So many have been butchered of the years.

You Duster looks awesome just the way it is. :)

I’ve always loved the twin snorkel and think it would look great but have to admit your car looks fantastic without it.

Looks good, but because of your wheels, tires, and stance, I'd put a six pack hood scoop on it.

I like it the way it is, but like 318willrun says, it would look good with a six pack scoop. Just don't but it from Stinger!

I would leave it as is! But, if you want a scoop (nothing wrong with that!) , please get a glass hood, and put the scoop on that. That way you can change back, if you want.
Edit: for what it is worth, I would use the scoop you are talking about, the raisin bran scoop. Post#11.

IMHO
the flat factory hood looks awsom, the OEM scoops look goofy

If you just have to put a scoop on it go big or go home

That’s what I’m considering. But I would hate to cut the hood.
Remember, once you hack you can’t go back:eek: Keep as is, buy one with the scoop you like, drill for hood pins at the most. That’s a nice clean ride

The reason that I’m thinking about a hood scoop is I want to put a spacer under my carburetor. I have a Edelbrock air gap intake manifold with a 750 Holley carb. and that will not clear the hood, Or it will be very close to touching the hood. Plus I like the way it looks.

Is the spacer for performance or running alcohol laced fuel?

Also unless the openings are placed in the right location (sometimes facing the windshield) you don't get any ram air assistance.

Any reputable companies you guys can recommend for buying a fiberglass hood with scoop?

I think a scoop from a Dart Sport has a different mounting surface contour than your hood. You will need to be sure which one you get. But I definitely would not cut a good hood.

I have a 70 that I bought a twin snorkel for but I’m now at the point where flatter is better. Your car is gorgeous-why try to change perfection?

That is one nice ride, I like the dual snorkel and well and like everyone else has already said, keep original hood and buy aftermarket.
