Make a private listing, send the buyer the link, eat the ebay fees and make up on shipping! Buyer will still be ahead!

Ebay shipping to Canada is halarious.

I live 1 hour west of Windsor On which is Canadian side of border close to Detroit.
I bought an item from Detroit area and had it shipped.
It went from Detroit Mi to Ohio, New York, California, Kentucky (ebay international shipping center) crossed at Windsor (detroit border) made it to Montreal and back to missisauga (Toronto) then hit up London Ontario (1 hour east) and then delivered.

My part travelled North America before it arrived

Ill ship it for $14.82 but i'm just not sure they are not quoting an envelope or something....It has the measurements and weight right in the quote? First time I'm using the online shipping label service....in 20 years of Ebaying.....

Yes, I ship through them all the time. Just make up a bogus $1 listing, pay $0.50 in fees and save a ton of $$$ on shipping costs.

Shipping is a joke today. I looked at an item on eBay, a bag of electronic parts that couldn't have weighed a pound....$27 to ship to me via FedEx. Needless to say, I didn't bite and found an alternative.

I bought 4 arm rest screws off EvilBay other week. The seller charged $10 and I messaged him back and I said keep them. I then got them for $5 in an envelope I could have done for $3! LOl:lol::BangHead:

I think many on Ebay are pulling the dealership scam and making money off the support (shipping, service, finance, etc) more so than the product!

USPS, UPS and FedEx give big discounts to eBay, Amazon, Summit and such and then rape the rest of us to make up the difference.

I look at a lot of vintage fishing reels on E bay.

Lots of them are 25 bucks and 200 shipping or 225.00 buy now with free shipping...

I think many sellers hope folks see the .99 cent cost and dont see the 9.99 shipping.

Look at fishing bobbers or any light weight items.

Yes they do. They charge on the total sale price including shipping.
Didn't used to be that way

It's probably been a decade or so by now, but they only used to take a cut of the sales price, not of shipping and handling

People would sell a $200 item for $5 and tack the remaining $195 to the shipping and handling charges

The buyer paid the same but the seller netted more

Didn't take egag long to get wise to that one

You should see the shipping Facebook posts up. I’ll see an intake for sale and Facebook posts up a “ships for 5.60”. Lol. I don’t think I could ship a roll of stamps for 5.60.

This thing sold for 145 and the guy sent me 194. I never posted a shipping price in the ad, only the dimensions so I guess Ebay said it would cost $48 to ship to the buyer and there are quoting me the seller around $14 UPS ground? Something smells fishy.....Ill ship it Monday, but I bet you a doughnut that the $14 will get it on the truck but Ebay will back charge me sometime in the future for the corrected amount ala FedEx, some mystery $50 on my monthly bill for some shipping surcharge.

FedEx did this to me, I gave away a part to a guy that sent me the shipping rate a FedEx store quoted me. This included FedEx packaging and shipping. Three months later I get a bill from FedEx that I own them $35 more. I had to prove that the FedEx store packaged and shipped it. I ended up not having to pay for the additional cost. That was the last time I ever used FedEx.

I had UPS try to charge me "brokerage fees", for an item I purchased from Canada. They sent me a invoice about a month after I received the item. After telling them the seller had already paid the fee, and getting nowhere, I said "where is my item, never got it, you must have lost it, do you have a signature"? Never heard another thing.
PS: It was a rebuilt cooling unit for a full size RV refrigerator. I did verify, that the seller did pay the fee.

Don't blame the shipping companys its not their fault..you know whos fault it is!!

Does it start with a T or a B? Seems everything nowadays gets tossed back into their laps. I understand the shipping discounts. If it were not for Ebay and its sheer shpping volume, USPS would have gone bankrupt 10 year ago. Who's idea was it to sponsor a multi million dollar professional cycle team back then while they were asking congress for more operating capital? I wonder when Amazon will get into residential shipping like Fastenal does (sort of)?

I put the actual shipping price in BOLD in the item description, which is always fixed as i use flat rate usps boxes Almost exclusively

Here’s one from yesterday. Imagine shipping a big block Tunnelram for that price

When I shipped my PS3 (yesterday) The first thing Ebay shipping showed me was cost of a flat rate envelope? Oh...and they took 12.55% commission...$25! So the guy sends almost $194 (for some reason???) , they take 12.55% of that (not the purchase price) and deduct the $17 shipping cost I had bought through them. I still made money off something I found collecting dust in my garage, but what a racket! But I had no bites on craigs or facebook market so.....Eagle crank vendor on Ebay shipped my forged crank for $11.99.
