I've had this 1989 5.2 D-150 Automatic OD long bed truck. I bought it from friend of mine that owns a shop. He was working on the truck for a customer. After they shut the engine off and they went to restart it, they said the starter broke the transmission. Well I finally got it on the lift and what happened is the threads in the transmission where the starter mounts were all stripped out. Had they took the time to install Heli-coils it would have been ok . Now I am parting it out. The rear is a 8.25 27 spline open 3.55 which the carrier and gears will bolt right in a A or B body 8.25 which I will sell separate. Hood is good, drivers door is good. Has a lot of good trim parts on it. All the wheel well trim is good except the right rear. Engine was running thou I never heard it run, it is 100% complete right now. Let me know what you need. Thanks

When you say overdrive, it has the lock up torque converter? If so, how much for the computer?

That might be something different. It might be an actual overdrive. Not sure if it would work in my truck. I better pass. Thanks for the quick response.

Sounds like the tranny could be a 46rh. Desirable for swaps to O.D./lu hydraulically actuated via a pressure switch.....no computer needed.

Roy, how much for the battery tray? If the windshield washer jug isn't cracked, I'd be interested in that too. I won't mind waiting a bit if you want to keep the battery tray in it in case you want to fiddle with it to get it started. Zip is 28715.

I would almost think you could just get longer starter bolts and put a nut on the back side? I think they go all the way through...

Top bolt does and you can get a nut on it. Bottom one goes thru but is to close to the case to get a nut on it.

I’ll check on those.

I would be interested in the computer.

Beings it is 89 is probably an A500 tranny. Maybe a non lock up too. My 91 had a non lock up A518.
