What wrong with the Challenger in this movie

The TV show Mod Squad used THAT Challenger It was a 1971 that was re-done as a '72 to reflect the current model in the show, even though convertibles weren't an option. Note the side marker lights. Pro Stock racers did the same thing to keep up with the current year models either for the sake of economics or while waiting for a new car to be finished. The '70 & '71 Motown Missile Challenger are the same car. Lots of A-bodies were updated that way as well.

Racer do that for class reasons too. “Factoring”, correct?

There was a pink Challenger class racer that changed from a 1970 T/A 340-6bbl to a 1971 Challenger 340-TQ-4bbl with optional T/A hood

removed the T/A stripes, changed the intake and carbs, changed front grille, and change rear taillights

These two cars are the same. Chrysler sent them a “kit” of parts to swap from 68 GTX to 69 A12 Road Runner.
