Hi guys quick question on these leaf spring rear bushings. I bought new springs and bushings from espo, looking at the bushings they are longer than the sleeve on the spring. Im guessing that I cut the bushing down so it fits the sleeve or is it meant to be longer and compresses that much when the shackle bolt is tightened?

Hmm must be how they make poly bushings. I ordered a set of b-body bushings to get a set of shackle bushings for my Dart (no one had any a-body sets in stock). The shackle bushings were the same as shown above. Never owned a b-body so I just assumed they had a wider spring.

Thank you. That’s what I was thinking but thought that I’d double check before cutting them down.
Cheers, Mike N.

Interesting that they are that much longer, but cut them to fit is what I would do rather than wait for some shorter ones.

Lots of people install them dry, but I lubricate all my suspension connections including shock bushings with synthetic disc brake grease. It makes a measurable difference in reducing suspension sticktion.
