Quest for 7's in the 1/8

-
Grinding away for hours on end days on end to get questionable results... Dust and metal flying everywhere the mess the cleanup it's terrible and the loud grinding squealing noises.... it's a dirty thankless job... The amount of horsepower gain I just rather slap a bottle in the trunk... LOL..
And no power gain by rebuilding a tranny :) LOL.... End results is we do what we like to do !
  • This quickly turned into "will I gain enough to run 7's with the tranny?" to "How you should rebuild your own tranny" thread ... LOL

Trans talk.....We all should have our heads examined:rolleyes:

I had mine examined, and they didn't find anything.

Mind wheels are spinning with snow on the ground and sub-zero temps. So moving forward, we'll get to 7's with minor changes. Not looking for .3 in one swap, but maybe in 3 or 4 minor changes. Ideas are already growing legs and set into motion.

I never seen a build of yours with a tunnel ram? Was this just a part you had or did I miss the car/truck that it was on?...
TMM will have a cow if we "chat" in a "wanted" thread... LOL :D
I sold it. It was bolted on the 360 that I put in my Duster.

Yeah chatting in a thread like that is kind of a double-edged sword. It does keep it at the front of the conversation and draw more attention to possibly helping the guy as well...

MOOOOOOOO! Yep. no chatting in sale threads. Site owners rules. Most of the time comments end up conversations and arguments about the pars sold. I allow a little clarification but no chit chat in the threads. Every time there is another post, the thread is bumped to the top of page 1. Bumping sale threads is against the rules with limitations. Gold members can purposely bump their threads ince every 3 days and non Gold members aren't allowed to bump at all.

It's why I grabbed Jpar by the knap of the neck and drug him down the alley to my thread.

  1. First up, it's getting manual brakes. This will only be a few pounds loss, but it's a few pounds off the front. More importantly, the brakes won't bleed down at the strip. Everytime I try to brake torque it, the booster bleeds down and the truck pushes forward. That pushes me deeper into the beams and I can't leave the line at the RPM's that I want. Just maybe there will be 200th's of a second drop in the 60 ft, which according to Wallace is a tenth in the 1/8. So hopefully "some sort of minor gain".

Or maybe you can take off a few of those 318 will run stickers off and improve your 60 ft and overall with the weight loss. Lol..

Mopar Sam
I spent today looking for the "adjustable brake pushrod" that I bought. Bought it a year ago, cannot find it anywhere. I was going to order another one, but cannot find it in my purchase history. Bummer. Do you know what "universal" pushrod works ? You just did this swap on your sons truck? Or anyone else know ???

I know I had found one that was pretty good price, but I can't remember where. I'll see if I can get a couple of the marbles to roll around in my noggin so I can remember.

I thought you found one at a phenomenal price...

Yes! when I needed one, a certain member with A tunnel rammed, stroker, 4 speed duster gave me one, and wouldn't even let me pay the shipping. A great guy, even if he does like snow!

Hey, I just found a thread where someone said that pushrod didn't work for them. May need a little more research before buying.

I want to add, I searched some more and found 3 threads where people liked the RC14 I listed above.
