Those of u that are running a airgap intake
Small block
Did u have to change ur throttle cable .
If so what did u use

I didn’t have to change the cable, but I used the throttle bracket from AR Engineering for a high rise manifold. I think you want your cable to pull in line with the throttle shafts, not above or below it.

I used Lokar cables as non of my running cars came with a throttle cable. Or much of anything else! LOL!
On my ‘73 - 340 Cuda, the stock cable is still there and IIRC, it wasn’t much of a problem at all.

Before I tore it apart, I was using the stock cable and bracketry for the 340 in my 73 Cuda. Angles may not have been optimum, but it seemed to work fine.

I have air gaps on two of my cars. Both have stock throttle cables and no kickdown linkage(reverse manual VB). You will want an adjustable taller bracket for the throttle cable so it lines up with the carb. The stock bracket will not be tall enough.

I fabbed a spacer to "raise" the factory 4 bbl 273 bracket roughly 2.5". It works fine, but I want to make a bracket that will utilize 2 intake bolts to make it stronger. This is on a 5.9 Magnum.

I am familiar with AR Engineering's raised throttle brackets, and used one on a big block with RPM intake, but am just using a factory 340 bracket on my 65 Barracuda 340 with RPM Air Gap. The cable does angle upward, and I suppose ideally it would be level, but it works fine and gets full travel with appropriate pedal effort, so I never have felt the need to modify or replace the factory bracket.
