I don’t know a lot of people that would give a **** so I’m sharing it here. 2 years sober today.

Super congrats! Many of us fight that Demon everyday! Well done Sir. It ain’t easy. But think how much better your body feels, and how virtually every single relationship (that is truly important) in your life has improved! Hope you have many more.

Yes, thats a great milestone sir, keep it up and eat properly as you can, especially exercise, not sure of your age... but its a must do at mine..

You're on your way

And I think there are a few here that know what an achievement that is

Were proud of you brother

Congrats! A very tough journey. Reading thru your posts I didnt realize that alcohol was a problem(if it was).
Some people quit for different reasons, whichever yours was for, 2 years is a great achievement!

Great job Sam! You looked healthy and happy the last time I seen you last summer so keep up the good work! After having the China flu over a year ago I rarely drink anymore, can definitely tell a difference, lost weight and mentally felt better...When I do have a drink I feel a little guilty and it doesn’t even taste as good as I remember after taking such a break from it! Again great job and happy new year to you and your family!

Never showed up late for work, didn’t drive even after a beer, didn’t cause financially problems, never hid drinking from anyone, was a happy drinker.

Was able to drink in moderation most of the time but it was daily. Seemed like every few months I’d over do it and do something embarrassing/feel like complete **** the next day. It consumed my free time. I wouldn’t do things/go places because I wanted to include alcohol and wouldn’t be able to drive.

Basically quit to be a better parent/not do anything stupid to jeopardize my time with them.

My social life hasn’t recovered and I feel like there was a reversal of sorts. I now don’t really have a life when I don’t have the kids. Although looking back hanging out at a bar every weekend doesn’t seem like much of a life either.

Thanks for sharing!
I commend you.

2 years is a big deal IMO. You set a goal for yourself and have stuck to it. Kudos! You probably feel somewhat empty in your life because that lifestyle you were living is for drinking. And your proving it's no longer for you so my advice is fill the time void and look for something else to give you a charge in life.... It's all you can do and work in progress on a daily basis....

Congrats and keep on keepin on!
I lost a good friend years ago that drank himself to death, he was about 45. He was a welder, he loved fabbing and welding, but could not put the liquor down.
