Vixen, 64 Valiant 2 door seeeedan. Are there any REAL QUALITY tail light gaskets and seals that are not the total bullshitty hard plastic and will actually crush and form a GOOD seal? Or are we just gettin screwed without gettin kissed now?

I'll take pictures after my knee procedure, and let you decide. My home made ones with aerospace foam are better. I'll post you a link for the material, and let you decide. A fresh Xacto knife and a template would help. I'll gladly supply a template, if needed.

DMT makes some quality stuff.

My DMT stuff was great and had good shipping to Canada even. The foam does squish nicely and seems to seal up ok.

DMT... That guy`s a flake. If you order, don`t fill out the note box provided with shipping placement instructions.
I guess though things can get screwed up and it's unfortunate when it happens to you!.

Just before Christmas Jim told me in no uncertain terms, after his folks shipped me incorrect parts by mistake, that he's DONE shipping to us North of the border...we can buy our stuff from Nigel or go without.

I ordered a fuel neck gasket and trunk seal for a notch. When a note box is provided on a sales site I use it for shipper instructions. Place package on side door steps. He mailed me back ranting over instructions. Sent money back and refused to sell to me.
I emailed back and said forget instructions and just fill the order. NOPE... wasn`t having it? :wtf:

Seems pretty flakey to me...

So just so I'm gettin this straight, yall are saying there is more then one type seal/gasket? All I have on mine is the hard black plastic. So there's foam, too? Do they stack on top of each other somehow or are there just two different kinds to choose from? Thank yall for the info so far.

That's not very good business practices, is it?

What exactly did your note say? I'm not calling you a liar, but I'd bet there's another side to the story. Jim at DMT is one of the BEST businesses I've ever bought parts from. I put them right up there with Cass (Dr. Diff). He's sold me individual seals out of a kit before and has even sent me a small part for free. Stand up guy in my book. I'd be curious what the misunderstanding was all about.

Yea I called Jim direct and he still shipped up to Canada for me. This was back in Oct of last year.

Damn. Ok, nevermind. I'll figure it out.

I have gotten stuff from DMT twice. no problems.
Man, I've ordered all kinda stuff from them... I wanna say they were the only gas fill tube gasket I could find, also all kinda other stuff, wiper Pivot Seals ( added my own zerks), firewall kits, funny Lil things no one has. And Everything was nice, close cell foam, when it was supposed to be.

Hey Rusty,

Every gasket I could get from DMT , I bought. Perfect fit, only one issue and it was solved immediatly with a phone call. The heaterbox rebuild kit is awesome! I have the taillight kit and its foam gaskets designed to compress to seal. Here's a pic.

I tried ordering from DMT earlier last year and when I tried to place my order online it said they don't ship to Canada. Never actually spoke to any one. Was disappointed as I read on here that the fit of their stuff was among the best.

Then I called National Moparts here in Ontario and discovered they are a reseller of DMT products. I spoke to Dave and he even went the extra mile that if I wanted the DMT part specific he got me a price and ordered it for me with his regular order. After the conversion I didn't notice much of a difference in price either. Was really happy with the service I received. I placed a large order and it took a little while to get me all the prices (had a number of special requests) and they were also super busy, but followed through fine and even stood behind his word when a mistake was made. Will deal with them again.
