Is it a for sure thing that the K member must get notched for oil pump? Sounds like some have had to, and some have not.
With the info and feedback from you guys, here is where I am so far;
Trans Adapt engine mounts, SBM to BBM, which I have read are a copy of Schumacher so fingers crossed
Manual steering box, 16:1 to make sure I have clearance no matter what headers. Was going to get TTI, but my goodness that sounds like a nightmare no matter what
Schumacher Tri Y's are on the way, he FedEx'd them yesterday. Great guy to deal with, sounds like a one man shop so be patient I guess. Excited to get them. I don't care if I am giving up any power, I like that fact that I can always buy a Borgeson PS swap kit if I get tired of strong arm steering. I am 50, so that could be as early as summer 2023
Summit oil pan for C body. That is what reading here had suggested, hopefully I got that right lol.
Mopar performance dual plane intake, found one in stock at Summit Nevada location and had to ship it to the border, only Tallmadge stock ships to Canada direct (for other Canadian members info). I know they are an eddie performer RPM, but I love the MOPAR script on it...its the little things
Pertonix flame thrower dizzy. I don't want to mess around with the ballast resistor and ignition box and what have you, so this and a good coil and I should be good (?)
Eddie E street heads. I chose the 75CC version because that should bump my compression nicely. I really wanted the promaxx/sidewinder/440 source cheap heads but all three have been backordered over a year which tells me they are the same castings, and none of them have a clue when they will be available again
Comp cam, .545 lift both intake and exhaust, I cannot remember the duration, and 110 LSA. Could be a bit much, we will see
Crower cam saver lifters. Things are impossible to find in stock, but a guy named John at Crower went into a dusty room and found the last set for me (even if that was not true, was a cool story he told anyway). Crower might be the nicest people I have ever dealt with in the car hobby. Well, except for the woman that answered the phone on Tuesday, she must have had a really bad holiday. Went with these lifters as it will be the first flat tappet cam I have ever broken in, and I want every chance of success beyond the normal tips/procedures
440 engine. I settled on a 68 440 that was rebuilt for a truck I believe in 2006, and has spent alot of the time since in a garage. Picking it up on Saturday morning. There were a few in town that are 72 and up with unknown condition. This 68 may still need a go through, but I chose it because it should have a forged crank, with the pilot hole already drilled. being it was rebuilt in 2006, which knows what pistons they used, but i would assume they are farther in the hole than stock, again where the 75 CC chambers will help me.
I sold all the small block stuff I had bought when i bought the roller and sold the last of my Chevy garbage so I did a couple of big Summit orders to tide me over until tax time
Anyway, not so much for questions, just an update. As always, if you see something that looks wrong do not hesitate to say something. I know enough to be dangerous, but I am also having a blast trying to do most of this myself.
