How do you like your pizza

-
Dear ole dad use to take us here, many years ago, and they did have piano and banjo going, just a picken and a grinning to our little hearts delight.

I make my own dough from scratch, sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, black olives, green olives and banana peppers, also Pizza burritos, same insides in extra large tortillas. Grandkids love em'

We have Pizza Night every couple of weeks . We either make our own or get a Papa Murphys thin crust pepperoni then we add fresh basil , garlic , tomatoes , parmesian .

Shakey is the best pizza I evers had . Thats back in the 70s when they prepped everything fresh each morning... I managed a Shakey and several Dominoes in Minneapolis when I was young . Dominos was crap but fast ..

I remember Shakey's too. It was our go to place when we were young. Great food and prices. I can't remember if it was on hwy 12 or hwy 55, lol.

Are you kidding?!? Hawaiian pizza IS health food, all five food groups
Dairy: cheese
Fruits: pineapple
Vegetables: edit: green peppers
Grains: pizza dough
Protein: ham.
What could be more healthy than that?
Edit: pepperoni, onions, sausage, ham, for me. No damn anchovies or olives or mushrooms.
Tomatoes are a fruit.

Kind of surprised that the pineapple haters haven't jumped in on this.

When I lived in Denver, I’d hit DP dough on Colfax that just did calzones. Pepperoni, pineapple, jalapeños was bomb and cheap. The other is Marco’s coal fired pizza down by the baseball stadium. That place is hands down best pizza in Denver… Round Table for a west coast chain is bomb. And Mary’s Pizza that’s out of Sonoma is the best in the Bay Area. And Hot Lips Pizza in Portland is super bomb, along with MOD pizza…

I'm finding myself with an almost obsessive craving for pizza these days and I have eaten pizza everyday for the last week and a half and I'm still not bored with it.

I have tried many different topping combos and ordered from different places. Mostly chain places like little Caesars and black jack pizza. As well as a local Chinese place that makes pizza.

How do you take your pizza.... standard got and ready or any kind of special orders??

I'm slightly baffled. Do you try to type/spell in your version of white honky broken english..or is it northern spanglish?

Like my women...I like all kinds...but just like with women..i avoid the cheap ones because they taste like **** and are bad for your health.

I got laid off from a good paying job just before 9/11, single income family. I picked up a job delivering pizzas for Godfathers. They had buffet pizzas every night and I took home the left overs for months. My kids, to this day, remember how great that time was.

Kitty makes me a cream cheese based veggie pizza that's just kickass. But I like traditional pizza a lot too.

I made pizza for a living for 20 years. I still eat it lol.
I like a good old thin crust cheese pizza myself. Customer favorites were a chicken alfredo pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, steak and cheese pizza (mushrooms, green peppers, and onions optional),and of course the ever popular garbage style pizza and meat lovers.
Ham and bacon is a good one as well.

Ohio Valley style
Basically you cook the pizza and add the cheese when it comes out.

I used to love Shakey's Pizza. It's what pizza was supposed to be. The last one we had around here was in Warner Robins and now it's gone. Mighty good Pizza.

What Kitty does now when we want regular pizza is get the cheapest, bullshittiest, crappiest store brand pizza and she soups it up with more cheese, veggies and meat. Turns out REAL good at a fraction of the cost of eatin out. Though we still frequent our local family run pizza joint every now and then.

I also like them Stouffer's french bread pizzas, although I ain't had one in forever. They're kinda expensive, so that eats up some grocery bill but they sure are good.

Probably the best store bought frozen pizza I've had was those Celeste pizzas for one. They're purdy dang good for a froze pizza.

We had one or two Shakey's pizza locations in Winnipeg, may or may not have been the same franchise. Last one closed up around 1983 or so. I used to go for the all you can eat lunch buffet once in a while.

Hand stretched, slow rise dough, cooked on a brick in a 600° oven. None of those pans on conveyor belts. Sauce that has enough basil to give it a bit of a bite. Cooked just past golden brown to be a little crispier. Toppings depending on what I want that moment.
After the service, and before I went to work for Pennzoil, I worked in a busy college town diner/pizza shop. I got pretty good at pizza making. The boss drove a GTX and raced a '68 Charger.

Doubt it was same franchiser but probably got indredients from same commisary. There are websites devoted to duplicating the cracker crust and sauce. They have started reopening franchises in WA and CA but I have yet to eat at one . I find it hard to imagine they can afford to use the same level of indriedients. Hell we ground/spiced our own sausage and beef . Shredded and dried the cheeses ( 7 different ones ) mixed and rolled the dough , sliced the veggies ... every morning !

I worked at Shakey’s in Colorado Springs back in the 80’s. Had a 340 Duster at the time. Got fired from them, oops. Looks like that location is no longer.
