It would depend on the year. '66-7 also used rosettes attaching the VIN to the driver's side door pillar. '65 and earlier, they were psuedo spot welded on the door pillar. I've also run across a few oddball '68 models with riveted-on fender tags that look to be factory. They have completely different code numbers on them too. The rivets were not rosette's however, just a regular type rivet.
