Has anyone here dealt with Bill and Robin Edward's ? I have had every excuse in the world given to me, when I have been fortunate enough to talk with him. If they are a no go, I need to move on
Seatbelts.

Are you having problems getting your seatbelts finished?

No personal experience with them. I did pm a member here (don't know if it is them) who rebuilds seat belts asking if I could get one belt done (all I needed and a way to judge quality of work) and was told "I only do sets" or something like that.

I need everything for the front seat. Got in line, then I am working on them right now, to their done, just need your address. Nothing yet. Buying used, and having them redone is, well, maybe I should go in a different direction. I don't like the modified anchor type that are available.

My interpretation of what you posted...

  1. You needed a full set of front seat seatbelts
  2. You contacted Edwards to buy a full set (with or without a core set from you?)
  3. You were on his queue (some number of orders ahead of yours)
  4. You contacted Edwards and were told "I'm working on them right now"
  5. You contacted him again and were told "they are done"
  6. You contacted him again and were told "we need your address"
  7. Some time has passed and you have not heard anything from him
  8. You are rethinking your decision to have used seat belts rebuilt rather than buying new style and reworking the mounting points.
Is this an accurite retelling of you post?

That is pretty close. Without a core set, he said that he had a good supply and did not need it. I am not really trying to bash him or his wife in business. Just trying to find out if anyone else has done business with him, and the outcome.

Perfect.

Ok so now we know where things are.

  1. What was promised for a turn around?
  2. Did you supply the core parts?
  3. Did you pay a deposit or in full up front?
  4. Do you live or know anyone who lives near Edwards?
  5. Assuming you have been waiting long past the promised date, has he given you any legitamit reasons for the delay (chrome shop was backlogged, webbing from China was stuck on a cargo ship in the port of Los Angeles, he had a heart attach, wife had a heart attach, etc?)
  6. If you paid in advance did you use a credit card, (dispute the charges)
  7. Wait till you get them?

I have purchased two full sets from Bill for my 69 Swinger and 69 GTS. Had good results on both transactions - about 18 months apart. GTS set was missing two rear short belts, I brought it to his attention, and had them within a few weeks. Total time from order to in my hands was probably 4-5 months, which I knew going in.

Post #8 is what I was looking for.

Ordered in April of this year.
No money paid up front
No promised time
Said that the belts were done, asked for my address, pay him by mail when I received the order.
Will try again to contact him.
Thank you for the responses!

I would say if he is is willing to send you the product without being paid first he is an upstanding guy. April 2021 to January/Feburary 2022 seems a bit long.

Yeah, very trusting, but----------. I will keep trying to make contact.

Well, he has contacted me, said he had been sick and was recovering. Will post outcome.

Well, it's been another 2 months and nothing. Guess I should start a thread and see what others have done in the way of 3-point conversions. I have read of some, but can't seem to find them.
