Both Complete, all wiring and electronics, transmissions etc.
Rated at 300 hp at 4400, 450 tq @ 2400 !!
Tork monster from the factory, cheap!!
I didnt pull the trigger, I wanted to research them first. The SR-10 motors in the V10
Vipers are Almost complety different . cast from Aluminum. Instead of iron. Cast by Lamborghini with Ford like features.
Hi Po parts for the Ram V10 appears to be limited, I did see some camshafts. Both engines, trans, harnesses, electronics, for $1500. I left a small deposit to secure them. One to build, one for spares !
Looks like someone made a party out of a trip to the boneyard LOL

Friend of mine had a couple trucks with them in them. Were OK but parts were crazy expensive.

That is cool! What do you plan to put it in?
Not my 70 Dart with pristine sheetmetal,
Another 70 Dart. The bare Complete v10 is only three inches longer han a 360 mag. There would definitely be surgery. If i used an electric water pump and mimimized the other accesories up front, fabricated motor mounts, crossmember, to move the engine forward, etc, it could fit.

IIRC those are almost slightly stroked 5.9's with 2 more cylinders....4.00 x 3.88. all the torque delivered by 2500 RPM. Heavy suckers but they are V-10s! call Oregon Cam grinders and get your cam reground. Not like V10 cam blanks are growing on trees.....

Came close to swapping one into my Sweptline, but decided against it. They're dirt cheap around here, not much demand for them- heavy SOBs and absolute pigs on gas. They have the same bell pattern as a Cummins, so the diesel guys buy up all the trannies, making it somewhat difficult to find good used cores. And trying to mount a 45RFE in an A body would result in a "Beer Keg" transmission tunnel, anyways.
Tuning support is out there, anyone with Jtec capability can tune them, but the knowledge base isn't there to work from. Other aftermarket support is virtually nonexistent.
All said and done, they're neat engines, but truck guys gravitate towards the Cummins and car guys don't bother with them because the investment vs return isn't there.
JMO, of course- but I wouldn't bother unless my tractor needed a new engine.

Thanks, im going for "never seen a v10 in an a body" theme
Yes expensive, spare Complete motor will
Help with that

I think you oughta drop one in your car - along with 6 alternators, 10 carburetors, 3 radiators, and 4 turbos.

What transmissions come with them?
Good question !
Not sure, think 46 . the v10 has the same bellhousing as the Perkins diesel eng
The 46? Is mated to the v10 exactly. The trans Is only Good to 500 lbs tq. The tq of the motor i have seen range of 450-484 Ft lbs. Im am unsure if a 727 could be mated to the v10 block, any ideas ??

The biggest expenses are in the peripheral equipment- you've got to build a suspension capable of some semblance of handling with an 816-836# engine over your front wheels- definitely not off-the-shelf parts. Adapting an automotive transmission with appropriate gearing that doesn't have you shifting @ 2k all the time... And I guarantee that those headers you quoted won't fit an A body...
Looks better on paper than in practice. But, knock yourself out- your car, your money. Good luck- It'll be interesting!

I think the truck V-10 was the heaviest engine Chrysler ever put in a car or truck. My dad has one in a 01 Ram 3/4 ton and he uses it for plowing...he likes it but says the old 84 Dodge 1-ton 360 moved snow better. I think it’s cool you are using them, with a little work they can make more power, and it’s different so that’s a bonus! Just keep in mind the front end of Dart will be more heavy, HD torsion bars would be good with other upgrades, I’m not sure how it will all fit or what you need to use or modify but good luck! Post plenty of pictures!!

Different is cool but sometimes it costs more money than it’s worth, just all depends on what you want!

Up side down headers. 1 Turbo per side
Mostly straight line cruising, car shows, handling set up stoplight to stoplight , ....already have 4 wheel discs etc

Can't flip the headers, you'd have to build them. Exhaust pattern is based on the Magnum and LA pattern, which is asymmetrical.

Cool sounding engines, a guy had one in town when they first came he dual exhaust sounded wicked.

Maybe I can grind the flanges loose , the flange holes welded shut, drill new holes. Reorient the flange, better yet order the headers without the flange welded on, or fabricate my own

Great idea, i read a post the max lift on core was .478 lift . Did see aftermarket at .528
Unless ported, I think the .528 is too much for stock heads
