Salvage Yard visit, (2) Magnum V10. 8Litre

Came close to swapping one into my Sweptline, but decided against it. They're dirt cheap around here, not much demand for them- heavy SOBs and absolute pigs on gas. They have the same bell pattern as a Cummins, so the diesel guys buy up all the trannies, making it somewhat difficult to find good used cores. And trying to mount a 45RFE in an A body would result in a "Beer Keg" transmission tunnel, anyways.
Tuning support is out there, anyone with Jtec capability can tune them, but the knowledge base isn't there to work from. Other aftermarket support is virtually nonexistent.
All said and done, they're neat engines, but truck guys gravitate towards the Cummins and car guys don't bother with them because the investment vs return isn't there.
JMO, of course- but I wouldn't bother unless my tractor needed a new engine.
