Wondering about the dyno #’s. Huge tq for a 4” arm. 30 more tq then my 4.125” 440” W2 headed 667 roller cam engine.

this is going in my little Valiant. Car weighs 2550# so should be a whole lot of fun...

At 2550 lbs, low 9’s with 640 hp. I’m not even close to 640 hp and I’ve ventured into the 9’s at 134 mph. 2800 lbs race weight

Got into the nines with 400 wheel horsepower. Under 2500 with me in it at the line.
If you are a deuce, should be mid nines at142, a FUN ride!

Was it as lean as the dyno printout says?

Yeah was looking at that and thought that was a little strange too. If its Sunoco supreme 112 that claims to have a fast burn speed why would it need 34 total timing when its a closed chamber head. Did they try running it a little richer for best power or was it best at 13's.

Lighter is better!
How did you get it down that far?
(The masses will want to know!)

It’s not that hard but you need a few sacrifices if you build a safe car. I was in that area but I went back to steel doors with wind up windows. I would love to have a 40-50 pound lighter driver so I’m going to work on that soon.

Well I can see a good cage installed is a weight draw back but a worthy one that won’t be skipped. Fiberglass doors are possibly on the list. I’m not so sure how far down the rabbit hole I’m going.

My son talked me into removing the fiberglass doors and going with stock doors with wind up windows. I love them and would really miss them. my heads up car has fiberglass doors on it. That car was very light till I put a big block in it.

Glad to see this thread.
I too bought some, and I am having them looked over after I looked them over.
They look like a NEW RED RYDER out of the box. but yea, look close.
I disassembled, ran a sanding drum over the thru the port/thru the bowl, transition where they didn't quite come together. And mine were rough around where the guide came into the bowl too. I knocked that down with a conical sanding drum.
I was unsure about the valve guides. Shop is going to look at 'em.
Chambers cc's came out to about 69cc. working with syringes. Having them cut 0.025"

Now,
the valve springs? - The shop is checking them too.
The web site goes blank on the 190 Hyd RLR setup. All I have to go by is the 170cc head setup.
Dint measure before disassembly, but suppose to have been installed at 1.80"
Dual coil springs, no damper. Inner spring about 1/4" shorter than outer. where the seat pressure is.
Intakes had 0.160" and exhaust had about 0.140" stacks of 5/6 blued steel shims under them.
Plenty of room to work with. I will Post what shop finds.

great info on the flow numbers!
* Do you think cleaning up around the front/back transition will significantly help?
certainly couldn't hurt.

OH, AND,
these come with three angle valve job. I have yet to check this. Let us know what you find.

Only thing I hate to see is it was on Koffel’s dyno. Hmmmmmm. I can’t wait to see track times.

I know what you're thinking. I really have a hard time with this because I have met and spent time with Scott and he just one of those awesome people I wish I could spend more time with..But yeah I wish he was aware of the calibration of that DTS 'cuz it needs attention. J.Rob

Those numbers are reminiscent of that guy MRL that always posted huge numbers, but his stuff never ran the numbers in the real world.
