Modern "Two-Lane Blacktop" ?

It's probably better than the original. It's a piece of cinematic garbage. If not for the cars.....nuthin. lol
 
Jimmy Taylor and that other boy were too drugged up for that movie. Otherwise could have been a very cool movie.
 
Warren Oates was a very good professional actor, in a poor movie (except for the cars and racing). Dennis Wilson was a Beach Boy, not an actor.

He had some of the best corny lines in that movie. "I'm picking up one fantasy after another".

Best line in a car movie ever by James Taylor.."That Plymouth had a Hemi with a Tourque Flight"...Now that's a screenwriter who knows cars... :) You'll never hear that in Canon Ball Run:p
 
That movie only appeals to car guys and not even all of them. I've seen the flick several times and compared to even an 80s movie, it moved S-L-O-W. The character of the girl was too introverted and hard to read, as was JT. Maybe that is how some people are.
I'll admit that compared to the Fast and Furious movies , they are polar opposites. F & F moves way too fast and is unbelievable. Two Lane moves way too slow and is almost unwatchable.
 
Not even a drag racing movie but I’ll take California Kid over this roadkill movie anytime.
 
One of my favorite street racing movie is Born to run.
It's more realistic of the street scene.
Richard Greico drives a mean *** vintage stang.
