For anyone wanting to convert the A body from 5x4 over to 5x4.5

Yeah no kiddin. back from the dead to argue some more. lol

What I don't get is why everybody's so scared of the small bolt pattern?

You are smart and you surely know why. Others may not be so here goes....
The pattern isn't the issue, it is the tiny 7/16" BOLTS. The factory built 383 and 440 Darts and Barracudas with these small bolt patterns but they had HUB centric wheels. The hub and lugs were centric together.
The lack of availability of 15" wheels for the small bolt pattern is another issue. You can find 15" stock wheels in the big bolt pattern quite easily. Nobody runs a 13" wheel on a real performance car anymore, do they? Even the availability of a decent 14" tire is limited. I can go right now to local junkyards and find 15" steel wheels to use for a big bolt pattern car.

Well, I have the original 13" wheels on Vixen but only for now. I consider her certainly more of a performance oriented car than she was. But I do have 14" slots in the spare bedroom waitin on some new 14" tires.

Slotted wheels are cool. They take me right back to the old days!

Ive been looking at them for my 67 barracuda for a while. You do realize pics are required when you get em mounted up, RIGHT?!?
I love them. Very happy.

New to MOPARS. I was reading this thread because I need to convert my '65 Barracuda 7.25 axle from SBP to BBP.

It's a budget build so I cannot afford to swap out for a 8.25 or 8.75 rear at this time.

I have a set of BBP wheels and tires for it. That's the reason for the conversion.

Wheel adapters made the tires rub, so that's a nogo. I'm thinking about redrilling the axle hubs using a drill guide:

Drill Guide - Hells Gate Hot Rods

But before I get the guide and start drilling, I was wondering if I can get these axles from Summit:

Nitro Gear & Axle AXC4348511 Nitro Gear and Axle Direct-Fit Axle Shafts | Summit Racing

Will they fit my early A body 7 1/4"? I don't know the stock number of splines or the length.

Thanks in advance!

Yep, the cost etc of finding 14" wheels and tires on my island that I like is nearly impossible. 15" way easier to find in a decent tire, and they wanted like 800 to ship the rims!
