As you can see, the Hamtramck A bodies for '66 started at 500001.

They were also built in St.Louis.

And...... these cars were NOT built in VIN order regardless of plant. ;-)

There is a vague memory deep in a dark corner of my brain that Hamtramk had two assembly lines with one of them starting at 100001 and the other at 500001 in some years. '66 was also the first year of the "new" VIN tag configuration..
