Touch-Up Spray Gun

Santa brought me a small touch-up spray gun for Christmas. I have done quite a bit of painting through the years but have never used one of these little guns. Does anybody know if that small gun would be sufficient for putting the satin black paint on my hood?
 
I used touch up gun and it doesn't have a large spray pattern and can give you a tiger stripe look. I don't think it would look good for an entire hood. Changing directions would help though.

I would not even try it, the small guns are used to trim in stuff like door jams, where its hard to get a full size gun into,
