New year’s resolutions…In case you want to exercise more in 2022, ponder this:

• The inventor of the treadmill died at the age of 54.

• The inventor of gymnastics died at the age of 57.

• The world bodybuilding champion died at the age of 41.

• The best footballer in the world, Maradona, died at the age of 60.

• James Fuller Fixx, credited with helping start America's fitness revolution by popularising running, died of a heart attack while jogging at age 52.

However ...

• The Kentucky Fried Chicken inventor died at 94.

• Cigarette maker Charles Winston died at the age of 102.

• The inventor of opium died at the age of 116, not even of natural causes but in an earthquake.

• And, the Hennessey whiskey creator died at 98.

How did smart people come to the conclusion that exercise prolongs life?

The rabbit is always jumping up and down, but it lives for only two years, and the turtle, that doesn't exercise at all, lives for 400 years.

Oh yes of course, Hugh Hefner died at 90 on the job ( or shortly thereafter)

So in 2022 chill, stay cool, eat, drink and enjoy your life!.

Dad always wore cowboy boots and ate anything and everything he wanted, smoked from the age of ten up to 50 when he finally quit. Only saw him run one time in my life, behind the barn in some kind of urgent situation (I don't remember the details). He lived to be 86 years old.
Was he trying to grab you for a whoopin? lol

Mark Wainwright! You have it a bit wrong! Australian Rules Football is a pansy's game. They mainly just kick the ball. ARL . Australian Rugby League is our rough game. Oposition players must be ten metres behind the play the ball and when a player is tackled the tackler must release him within two or tree seconds or they are penalised. The modern game is played at a very fast rate and yes no helments or special padding is allowed! Games are played with forty minute halves. Do yourself a favour and google what a game!

Proof that happiness is the way to go regardless.

I will be a happy fellow and even silly at times regardless of whats going on around me, to a certain extent anyway
I agree. I think laughter, lightheartedness and the occasional adult beverage all go a long way to making life more enjoyable.

Yeah you ain't kiddin. I have an old school friend who ended up in Western Perth after meeting her husband after her pull in the Navy. They were huge Freemantle Dockers fans. Them boys play for keeps. lol Sadly, her husband contracted cancer and died and she moved back to the states with their twin daughters.

I agree James. I called it wrong. I've seen it on TV quite a few times and that's one tough game. I hope they get paid well LOL
